Staalkat, founded in 1956, has been part of a major Danish agricultural automation company, SANOVO Technology since 2006 and and has become one of the largest manufacturers of egg sorting machines. These grading machines form large production lines that sort one million eggs a day at high speed by preset criteria such as size, quantity, presence of dirt and quality (e.g. hairline cracks). Staalkat not only builds these machines, but also produces other robots that populate an egg packaging plant, such as packaging machines and robots that stack egg cartons on pallets and monitor them. In addition to building high quality machines, Staalkat is also strong in R&D and has developed intelligent software that controls the machines.
A dedicated team from Triodor developed a customised HMI for Staalkat's egg grading machines. As this was a success, the collaboration between Staalkat and Triodor was recently formally extended.
